Acer Swift Go 14: build quality and Design.
Acer has designed the gaming laptop with lightness in mind so that people can enjoy the gaming experience while travelling. In the world of ultrabooks, where everyone is showing off their skills, the Acer Swift Go 14 gives you a laptop with measured and feather-lightness that performs relatively well in the ultrabook world. Are you looking for such an ultrabook laptop? This laptop body is made of metal and the metal is made of aluminum, so it gives a lot of strength in build quality. Its design looks similar to Asus Zenbook S14, but I don’t find its design to be as premium. Do you like it?
But you also get some shortcomings in this, Acer Swift Go 14 has an aluminum lid and top plate and the bottom of the laptop has a plastic design, which never provides a premium feeling to the people, but I like the silver and black color of this laptop. And the weight of this laptop is 3 pounds, which makes this laptop a lightweight gaming laptop. You get to see Intel Core Ultra 7 CPU in this. This comes with Intel AI Boost Neural Processing Unit, which does the AI processing that you will mostly access through Copilot (more information on this later).
Acer Swift Go 14:- Display and Keyboard, touchpad.
The Acer Swift Go 14 (SFG14-73) gets you a stunning 14-inch OLED display that delivers a truly amazing viewing experience. The review model gets an IPS 1920x1200p 16:10 ratio display that lets you view video or images in good quality resolution, giving you exceptional clarity and vibrant colours. But I think the screen here is competent, not great, although there are some impressive upgrade options. Acer also sells an OLED version with a 2.8K resolution and 90Hz display. For the price, you get a more vibrant and colourful OLED screen with better brightness, more colours and contrast.
You get up to 400 nits of brightness in the display which may be less for some people, some similar OLED models of Acer give you 500 nits. Which gives you excellent brightness in videos along with the ability to watch good movies and play games with high graphics. Due to the OLED technology, you get deep blacks and incredible contrast ratio in its display, which makes the visuals look extremely attractive and real. According to me, this laptop will be a perfect choice for graphic designers and video editors. It does not offer you HDR feature but it handles gaming streaming well while streaming HDR. But there are things to like about its screen, which makes it a great choice for all kinds of uses, such as its tall aspect ratio, touch support, and a great color space.
There is something special about Acer’s touchpad keyboard that gives you a MacBook Pro-like feel while typing, as this laptop is designed with a slightly shallow pressure. However, when I used this keyboard for typing, I did not face any trouble in my daily tasks. It also handles your daily tasks comfortably. But the backlight of the keyboard of this model of Acer is a bit weak. When the laptop is turned on, a bright “SWIFT” light comes on the trackpad – which is a nice touch according to me. The touchpad is also a side of the keyboard in which it registers all your gestures, which you can customize to an extent in its settings. You adjust settings like showing your desktop or adjusting the volume. Overall, not too bad, but this touchpad
keyboard gives me a semi-premium feel
Acer has given this laptop a better keyboard than the last year model which is definitely an improvement but as I told you it has some flaws, when you click on the bottom left and right edges of its keyboard, you feel vibrations on clicking which Acer needs to focus on improving. The coating of the laptop doesn’t feel the smoothest. It is good for office and other tasks but I like the glass trackpad of Zenbook S 14 OLED more. But these are minor complaints that you find in stock laptops which might not affect you at all so according to me it is a good laptop.
Acer Swift Go 14:- Webcam, microphone, biometric options.
The webcam of the laptop plays a very important role, which you get to see above the bezel of Acer Swift Go 14. The camera of this laptop works well, in which at 1440p you get an excellent image, which shows good color and exposure video or image. But while doing office meetings with the camera, work in good quality light so that the camera works well in video calls. It supports Windows Studio effects, including background blurring, framing and eye contact, which help you leave your mark in the office. The camera handles your work very well.
The microphone used in this laptop is of very good quality which works quite well, giving crisp vocals with good sound while live streaming from the laptop. This laptop has a noise cancellation feature, but it does not work as well as other laptops, so if your background is very noisy then you need a quiet place. Like most laptops, you will also get a better camera and microphone in this laptop, but if you do not need a good quality video call camera then this laptop gives you a good camera and microphone.
Acer has also provided features like biometrics for you in this laptop. Talking about biometrics, unfortunately you cannot log in using face in this laptop, because Acer has not provided a system to log in using face in the biometric option. Here you get a fingerprint sensor through which you can log in to the laptop. Its placement is given in the upper right corner of the keyboard, which looks a bit strange. When I used the biometric option, this feature worked very fast which is a good thing, but only as long as your fingers are dirty or moist. Face unlock feature is not available in this biometric option.
Acer Swift Go 14:- Battery long-lasting or not?
Acer has used resolution and built-in AI in this laptop, due to which battery power is required. According to me the Core ultra 7 used in this is a bit weaker than other laptops in terms of power. For charging this laptop, the box charges through usb-c cable, but the battery life of this laptop is not anything special. But this laptop provides better efficiency of the laptop. When I used this laptop, this laptop completes the daily task easily, and for watching high quality web-series videos and using Photoshop as well, it gives you a good backup of 6 hours to 8 hours.
This laptop handles high tasks comfortably as this laptop 2024 edition has been greatly enhanced. This laptop gives you back-to-back video playback time which lets you perform high-efficiency tasks like graphic design or video editing so that you finish and deliver your work on time. Acer Swift Go 14 technically falls in the ultrabook category, however in comparison the battery of Asus Zenbook S 14 works quite well but it is not at par with it but not less than it either, overall the battery life is good.
Acer Swift Go 14:- overall performance.
In terms of performance, Swift Go is powered by Core Ultra 7 graphics which gives its users the best quality graphics and graphics. Since Acer has used the laptop’s multicore CPU, its single-core score is similar to the previous generation ‘H’ series chips and the performance is fast and helps in performing smoothly. When the laptop has such a high performance, you do not feel any kind of interruption in your day to day activities like watching movies, web shopping, app music etc with Word.
This laptop of Acer is almost double powerful laptop as compared to its old model and this is seen in the features and design of this laptop. The graphics card of the laptop gives very good performance of GPU during gaming, when I tested the laptop, I got a chance to play high quality games with the laptop. I ran Swift Go 14 OLED for more than 9 hours continuously. Gives full backup- while other models are able to give backup in only 6 to 7.5 hours, and you get a 65W battery in the laptop.
There will be no slow performance while playing games, because the laptop has your core, eight “efficient” cores, and two “low-power cores” for a total of 16 cores and 22 inches, and with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage, there is no problem in the performance of the laptop. During testing, PCMark of hardware is also required, Swift 14 helps the laptop to come out on top compared to other laptops. The performance of the laptop is quite good while gaming.
Acer Swift Go 14:- Buy or Not.
It is said that you have to like your laptop at the time of buying a laptop, but this laptop from Acer gives you the budget and freedom to do gaming. I think Acer Swift Go 14 is not a premium laptop, but apart from premium it comes inside the semi-premium laptop within the budget. Yes laptop is your office’s tough work or checking emails. And it helps you in everyday equipment, and so much effect that it can do its important work while traveling. In this you lack USB-C cable, there is no problem in charging, and yes completes your work from the laptop. This ACer laptop is easily available for $816.61. Overall, it has a few shortcomings, but above all, it is of great quality which makes this laptop worth buying.
