But it tries to set itself apart with its attractive, dot-matrix inspired software and a design with a small, unique looking LED screen at the bottom. Nothing Phone 3:“Design “.

The Nothing phone 3 has been given a very unique new design but it still keeps the feeling of “nothing”. The Nothing phone 3 seems a bit heavier than its competitors but still feels quite comfortable to hold in the hand. Its most important thing is the new LED dot matrix grid on the back side which can be easily customized. Talking further about this Nothing phone 3, its design is really classy and cool; Even though it’s not as confusing as its predecessors, we still get the same feelings about it — and it’s just as distinctive. There’s no mistake about mistaking it for a different model than any other phone, and it’s remarkable among such similar-looking devices.

And around the back, a new Glyph Matrix pattern dominates, made up of 489 individually addressable LEDs — nothing the company says except that it all delivers “intentional interaction.” Also, there is a button on the back side that lets you interact with the Glyph Matrix, which gives you the facility to switch between the available options. Also, it has been designed with a lot of thought and imagination, and it adds to the uniqueness of the device without being garish. Also, you can easily use the grid as a fill light.

This is nothing. Phone 3 is much better than the LED lighting seen in its previous models 1 and phone 2. And what’s more, there is a very special thing in it. You get many Glyph Toys in it, like digital watch, spin the bottle game, stopwatch, volume indicator, battery indicator and so on. With a weight of approximately 218 grams, it is heavier than most other serious devices but despite its flat corners it is not too tough to use. Nothing phone 3 has an aluminium mid-frame and glass back which is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. Another great feature in this is the Essential Key, which is just below the power button; you use it to launch Essential Space, which is a “secondary memory” that lets you store almost anything with just the press of a button.

We liked this feature a lot, and there is only one shortcoming that the Essential Key does not have any hassles like the power button. Nothing phone 3 has IP68 dust and water resistance. But it does not have IP69, which should have been there, but it is not a big shortcoming. There is one more design related problem and that is that the optical fingerprint sensor panel is a bit low, which makes it difficult to access at times. The sensor recognition is quite fast, and we did not see any problem in this Nothing Phone 3 in all these days.

Nothing Phone 3:- Display and best battery.

If we talk about the display in Nothing phone 3, you will get a 6.67 inch AMOLED display with 2800×1260 pixel resolution, whose maximum refresh rate is 120Hz. So its minimum refresh rate is 60Hz. There can be only one problem sometimes that the display instead of running at 60Hz can run at a slower speed, so maybe due to which the battery can die quickly, but according to what we have said about the battery, we don’t think we will have to worry much about the battery.

Further talking about nothing it gives you the facility to use this phone continuously at 60hz, continuously at 120hz or even on dynamic mix where it keeps changing the refresh rate to improve the battery life. We kept it on dynamic for checking and we did not notice any drop from 60hz and that too not at all during important activities or events. Let me talk about the display, while scrolling the display is very smooth, text is very sharp and if you wish you can make the colours even more sharp.

The animations are pretty cute and understandable, the touch sensitivity is great, Nothing has created a great dark theme, and the adaptive brightness reacts pretty fast according to your environment. Overall, I don’t have much of a complaint with this display except the outer brightness. Its maximum brightness is 4500 nits when playing HDR content, but in the outer environment it gives a maximum full screen brightness of up to 1600 nits.

And we have observed that the screen does not give enough brightness even in places with some sunlight. At times the brightness was so low that during testing we even grabbed the slider and slid it down and brought it back to full brightness to see if we can increase the brightness. But that didn’t happen. Talking about the battery of Nothing phone 3, this Nothing phone 3 has a 5150 mAh battery and it also has 65 watt fastwired charging as well as 15 watt wireless charging.

And my thing is that you do not get a charger in the box with nothing, and getting a 65 watt charger for this is neither that easy nor that tough, and my thing related to charging, if you do not get the main charger for this then sometimes you can charge it with your normal charger also. And it can easily run for the whole day. We used it for some time and tested it and then we came to know that if you use it continuously for 4-5 hours – then maybe you will be able to reduce it by 40-50 percent only.

And if you charge it once then you can easily use it for a day or even more. We also tested it outside our house and its screen was shining fully in sunlight, and we used it with many things like once we used GPS and mobile while playing cool games. Still we could not finish the device before night, that is to say, we could not kill its battery, its battery is good at its level.

Nothing Phone 3:- unique mobile Camera.

If we talk about the camera in Nothing Phone 3, then you get 50mp sensor in all the cameras, which on paper seem to be flagship level. The setup includes a 50mp main camera with OIS, a 50mp periscope telephoto camera with OIS that offers 3x optical and up to 6x digital lossless zoom, and there is also a 50mp ultra-wide lens without OIS. And the telephoto lens also works as a macro camera. From the front side, there is a 50mp selfie camera. All the sensors of this phone support 4k video recording at 60fps.

We have taken some photos and in most cases camera has an influential role. The dynamic range and colour reproduction in photos is very good. And the most important thing is that there is a big decrease in sharpness and detail, mainly while zooming the photos. And when we talk about similar models like iPhone 16, some competitive phones are ahead of it. And even when we zoom in at 3x, some camera limitations are felt. Photos taken at 6x and higher zoom than us often appear soft and grainy.

If there is enough light up close, then photos are good and easy to use in low light. And finally when you zoom in, you again notice a slight decrease in sharpness and clarity. Talking about nothing, in daylight, the primary camera captures bright and vibrant colours, and although it often hides shadows in high contrast scenes. And the macro mode uses the 3x zoom of the telephoto lens to get close to the subject, and it works great on still objects, but it sometimes faces a little problem with speed.

In this model, you can shoot 4K videos up to 60fps with all the cameras. But this model phone does not provide the facility to easily switch between all four lenses at the time of recording. This seems a bit strange. But in this model, you can switch only between 1x and 3x at the time of recording, or you can shoot different clips with either ultra wide or front camera. The videos look really good in daylight, there is great stabilization on both main and telephoto lenses due to OIS. Actually, videos in low light are a bit disappointing at times.

And they fail to provide the same clarity and detail as similar models like the Google pixel 9 pro XL. Nothing phone 3 gives a very good performance in daylight. Photos clicked with it appear very detailed and sharp but nothing allows you to tilt more towards bright photos. But one more thing is Nothing phone 3 offers portrait with better edge detection and sharpness which gives a great competition to iPhone and but iPhone 16 captures more accurate colours, mainly skin colours.

Nothing Phone 3:- “Performance & Software”.

Talking about the performance of Nothing phone 3 it doesn’t have Snapdragon 8 Elite and in its place Snapdragon 8s gen 4 runs. And it is not that good as a gaming phone and sometimes it gets hot too. That is why Nothing phone 3 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s gen 4 instead of Snapdragon 8 Elite. There is a lot in the 4nm node but it does not have the latest core.

I have used Iqoo Neo 10 and Pocho F7 running on 8s gen 4 and Nothing phone 3 is also almost the same; In daily use it is understandable and I did not notice any lag in it, and even in more visual games it performs quite well. However, it is not offered as a gem phone and it does not give as strong frame rate as you get in real flagship phones.

Talking further, there are some other small and big flaws in this as well; The usb-c port is based on the older usb 2.0 standard and you get slow transfer facility on connecting outer ssd. Another important thing is that it has WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 along with the usual AptX codec suite and the feedback of the vibration motor is really good but you don’t get any facility to customize the intensity of the engine.

Now moving to the software side of it, the software interface of Nothing phone 3 is one of the best software interface of any android phone currently available. The phone 3 runs on Noting OS 3.5 based on Android 15 and has a smooth interface, clean styling with unique extras features, and decent customizability to a great extent. Another great thing about it is that its custom widgets are also great and they add a liveliness to the UI.

Essential Space is a notable additional feature that lets you store screenshots in a dedicated section and leverages AI to pull out important information. It is now out of beta and comes with a built-in recorder which is a lot of fun to use. And you will not get as many features as you get in any other Android skin, but there is no bloatware in this either, and nothing else gives a perfect balance in this area.

Is the Nothing Phone 3 worth buying?

Nothing phone 3 which has a great display and top level build quality which will give the best life as compared to any phone coming till 2025. And in this version, this is the first smartphone which is not just designed but has been made with a lot of thought. It is a great device for capturing moments, be it for web research, audio notes or photos. Snapdragon 8s generation 4 gives great and fast performance, while 7 years of security updates make it one of the best.

Lastly, it is the design which can both make and break this phone. This is a pretty device. But more than that, the most important thing is that it is crucially capable. And yes, if you want a lot more specifications at this price, you can go for other similarly priced phones.
