Apple’s impressive Vision Pro headset is set to feature a powerful XR chip, claims GravityXR. Tech enthusiasts are set to get a better option than the Apple Vision Pro – an ecosystem-based powerhouse of XR chips designed by Wang Chaohao. Wang Chaohao works at Apple in the Extended Reality division position, and his new company GravityXR’s XR chip is designed to compete.
The AI-powered chip is going to be for people with advanced mixed reality technology, as GravityXR is a combination of the company’s chip R1 and M2 – which Wang Chaohao said enables real-time sensor processing with ultra-low latency technology. According to Morning Post South China, GravityXR company’s technology is using 5nm advanced chips, which is a step ahead of Apple chips – because the XR headset will be with lightweight AI glasses.
Apple’s Vision Pro headset operates at 12 milliseconds, while the GravityXR headset operates at just 9. This could be a significant breakthrough for Wang’s company and China, providing significant competition to Apple – this Chinese XR chip will help connect the global world.
